Local Environmental Film Festival Contest Accepting Entries

The 11th annual RVA Environmental Film Festival, scheduled for February 12 through 28, 2021, is seeking entries. The competition is open to Virginia residents with films based on environmental topics pertaining to Virginia. Films of all formats and genres will be considered.

Film submissions are due by December 31 at RVAEFF.org (click on the Virginia Environmental Film Contest link to FilmFreeway.com where full details are posted). A juried panel will select the winning films and prize money will be awarded to the film producers: $1,000 Grand Prize, $500 First Prize, $100 Best Cinematography, $100 Best Short Film and two $100 Honorable Mentions. Winning entries will be announced on January 15, 2021.

Scott Burger, a founding organizer, says, “We think the film contest, created in 2014, is important as a way to connect with not just our local natural environment, but also with our Virginia film community.”
