Adya Yoga and Ayurveda Opens in Shockoe Bottom

Adya Yoga and Ayurveda (AYA) is opening January 9 at 1801 East Broad Street, in the heart of Shockoe Bottom. AYA will offer traditional yoga, tantra and ayurveda from the best teachers and consultants in the Richmond area. A departure from the typical fitness-based yoga studios, AYA’s objective is healing and transformation; teaching the tools that cultivate self-knowledge and lead to a life of purpose and fulfillment.

AYA offers classes for infants, children, partners and expectant parents, as well as intention-based classes like Healthy Digestion, Detox Flow, Uplift and Energize, Calm and Stable and a hot stone restorative class. There are also classes and workshops in ayurveda, yoga’s sister science, which creates balance in the body and mind through diet and daily self-care.

Ayurvedic consultations are available from trained and skilled ayurvedic practitioners that include Kay Franz, a NAMA-certified ayurvedic health counselor.
