The Origin of Pain
Did you know pain is an output from the brain? It’s a signal. Your brain is constantly receiving and sending messages about the state of your body and the environment. Things that help us to perceive what these messages mean to us are attitudes, beliefs, and cues of safety or danger.
Join Dr. Laura Welch to learn about the latest research in pain science and discover how the nocioceptive system (the “danger detecting system”) works. Laura will explain how the nocioception system interacts with stimuli to deliver signals of pain throughout the body. From this class, you will learn new ideas that are yours to adopt and try when you are feeling pain. Come curious and open for possibilities!
