"Birding on the James River" Free Webinar

Learn about Birds and Birding on the James from the Mountains to the Bay

Virginia sits in a critical position along the Atlantic Coast for birds. 481 species have been identified in the state with 214 actively breeding. Twenty five percent of these breeding species are wholly or nearly confined to water or water associated habitats. The James River provides critical habitat and is a demarcation point between mid-Atlantic and southern habitats.

Join the James River Association (JRA) as JRA Environmental Educator James Abbott, JRA Lower James Restoration Coordinator Ryan Walsh, and special guest Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory President Brian Taber walk you through birding on the James River by season and location, highlighting some important species and sites. They will also address what we expect to see happening to the birds in our watershed over the next 20 years.
