Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) for BIPOC

8-week MBSR class for the BIPOC community

We are excited to partner with the Innerwork Center this fall to offer an 8-week MBSR class for the BIPOC community. This MBSR course is specifically offered for those who identify as people of color/multiracial/racial minority that want to engage in the practice of mindfulness. MBSR is a 8-week course designed to introduce mindfulness meditation practice as a way of developing greater balance, ease and fuller participation in your life. Participants engage in the process of exploring and practicing mindfulness formally and informally along with home practice each day. The weekly class includes guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices, gentle mindful movement, group dialogue and application to experiences of daily living. Mindfulness is a way of learning to relate directly to whatever is happening in your life rather than operating on "automatic pilot." Through practice you can more fully experience moments of joy and connection, and find new ways to relate to the illness, social injustice, pain and stress that is part of life as well. The cost of the class is offered on a sliding scale and access funds are available. To find out more about this class or to register, please visit the Innerwork Center registration page.
