APEX-MD PROVIDES

A Village of Health Support

Becoming healthy and maintaining wellness is a process that can be eased by engaging a group of experts. At the Apex-MD Integrated Holistic Wellness Center, in Glen Allen, a team of health and wellness practitioners provide a wide array of services for achieving this, naturally. It is a veritable village of health and wellness service providers.

A conventional primary care medical practice, Apex-MD incorporates complementary therapies from around the world to help patients achieve optimum health, not just freedom from pain and disease. The practice integrates Eastern and Western approaches to healthcare.

Dr. Suman Banerjee, founder and chief medical officer, and his wife, Dr. Rumki Banerjee, co-founder and medical director, have created a health center that offers the best of both worlds. In this way, Apex-MD treats not only the discomforts or symptoms of illness, the doctors, nurses and other practitioners also explore and treat the reasons behind it, identifying and addressing the root causes of disease—they view the body as one integrated system, not a collection of independent organs.

“At Apex-MD, we believe medical care should be based on both science and inquiry, while remaining open to new paradigms. Our providers are prepared, ready and willing to take patients on this new journey towards holistic wellness,” says Suman. “They work with patients to develop positive habits so they can feel happier and healthier.”

To address the symptoms and causes of illness, a number of complementary approaches are available through Apex-MD, including IV therapies, pain management with K laser, ayurvedic consultations and services, medical and therapeutic massage, yoga and dietary/lifestyle counseling.

Ayurveda involves identifying an individual’s inherent constitutional makeup, developing a customized detoxification process and providing support for maintaining healthy balances in mind, body and spirit. With the guidance of a physician, medical massage can accelerate healing from surgery or improve pain symptoms so that patients avoid surgery. Yoga can help with a number of physical and emotional issues, bringing increased balance, strength and calmness. Dietary and lifestyle counseling includes assistance with weight-loss goals, meal planning, recipes, maintaining self-esteem regarding food and food choices, personalized lab testing and support for positive self-care.

This spring Apex-MD plans to introduce a new workshop, Supercharge Sunday, to help people build a foundation for developing and maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle in an informative and supportive atmosphere. The goal of each session is to help participants feel better and have more energy. This village of experts at Apex-MD provides the services needed to meet a multitude of holistic health goals.

Apex-MD is located at 5310 Twin Hickory Rd. Ste. A. For more information, call 804-273-0010 or visit Apex-MD.com.
