Join us on June 11 as we celebrate International Day of Play indoors and outside! Bonus: it’s $10 Day! International Day of Play is an opportunity to have fun learning by experiencing all the Science Museum has to offer. From exciting exhibitions, to hands-on activities, to science demos, we bring the wonders of science to life. No matter your age, come out and play all day. Weather permitting, outside games and activities will take place 10 a.m.–12 p.m. on The Green. They will include hula hoops, giant toys like Connect Four and building bricks, mini golf, a scavenger hunt, dance party and much more. We’re partnering with our neighbors at the Children’s Museum of Richmond for the outdoor fun so the community can enjoy free play in the greenspace. All outside activities are completely free. We’re also collaborating with LEGO® as they celebrate World Play Day by inviting everyone to experience the transformative power that play can bring to the world. Volunteers from LEGO® will help support our event. Day of Play activities inside the Science Museum will take place 10 a.m.–5 p.m. The $10 admission includes general admission, the Science Unplugged touring exhibition, labs, The Forge and demos. Dome features and our Survival of the Slowest touring exhibition can be added to a Science Museum ticket for just $5 each. Science Museum members, children two and younger, military and teachers with ID receive free admission. Discounted tickets are available to EBT-cardholders through the Museums for All program.
