Shalom Farms Hosts Free Community Farm Day & Food System Fair at Northside Farm Family-Friendly Event Invites Richmonders to Explore How Food Moves Through Our Community Through Growing, Sharing, and Learning Richmond, VA (May 2026) – Shalom Farms is excited to welcome the community back to its fourth annual Open House on Sunday, June 7, from 1:00–4:00 PM at the Northside Farm, located at 1311 Westwood Avenue, Richmond, VA 23227. This year’s event is a Community Farm Day and Food System Fair, inviting neighbors to experience the Northside Farm as a space for gathering, education, and connection, while exploring how food moves through Richmond. The free, family-friendly event will feature farm tours, a cooking demonstration, hands-on activities for all ages, food trucks, live music, and opportunities to connect with organizations working across Richmond’s food system. “Open House is a chance for neighbors to experience the farm firsthand, meet the many people and organizations shaping a healthy local food system, and see the care that goes into this work every day,” says Änna Ibrahim. “From the food itself to the relationships behind it, this event helps make those connections visible.” Attendees can also shop Shalom Farms’ Mobile Market, offering high-quality fresh, local food through a sliding scale pricing model designed to make nutritious food more accessible for everyone. The event is free and open to the public. RSVP is encouraged but not required. Open House will take place rain or shine.
