Natural Awakenings Richmond

Urban Yoga Knows that Every Body is Different

Urban Yoga RVA opened this year at 102 North Seventh Street, in Richmond, offering a variety of classes for all-level yogis, including kid’s yoga, sound bath, yin yoga, beginners’ yoga, and power yoga. Urban Yoga RVA instructors are required to successfully complete a 200-hor yoga teacher training program.

Owner/instructor Cheryl Cannon-Clarke says, “At Urban Yoga, yoga is for every body. We acknowledge that the path of yoga means different things for many different people. We are excited to welcome first-time students and yoga enthusiasts of all shapes, sizes and abilities!’

Urban Yoga’s mission is to teach yoga with compassion, one person at a time, and to help each person discover or rediscover the art of yoga at his or her level of flexibility, strength and focus. Though breathing, movement and meditation, they assist people in finding and embracing their uniqueness. “Our clients walk away feeling encouraged and empowered,” states Cannon-Clarke.
