On January 19, Children Intergenerational Advocacy Day, held from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Virginia General Assembly Building, unites advocates of all ages and experiences to champion critical issues impacting Virginia’s youth and families, including early care and education, youth mental health, health equity, child welfare and family economic security.
Hosted by Voices for Virginia’s Children, highlights include a complimentary breakfast and inspiration from speakers and advocacy ambassadors; meetings with lawmakers to advocate for key bills and budget priorities that make young people the agenda; a powerful rally to amplify the message; and a catered community lunch to connect with fellow advocates.
Admission is free, and attendees will be invited to attend a prep session. Register at vakids.org.Location: 201 N. 9th St., Richmond. For more information, visit vakids.org/events/intergenerational-advocacy-day-1-19-26.
