Acupuncturist Earns Certificate

Deborah Farley

Deborah Farley, licensed acupuncturist, Doctor of Oriental Medicine (FL) and Certified Holistic Health Counselor, recently earned her Certificate for Aroma Acupoint Therapy (AAT). AAT uses the energetic qualities of essential oils (such as smell, properties, chemical and electrical molecules and action) as a vehicle to activate specific acupuncture points, just like an acupuncture needle would. Pure essential oils are powerful medicine and act quickly on the body.

AAT is different from other aromatherapy modalities because you don't pair up just any oil with any point. After a client undergoes an evaluation to determine their health condition, specific oils and points are selected and the oils are applied to the identified areas. AAT can treat a variety of concerns; from bruises, trauma, allergies, high blood pressure and anxiety to ADD/ADHD and depression. Since AAT may be used with or without acupuncture needles, this therapy is a great option for those afraid of needles, for children or for someone in a weakened state of health.

Farley, owner of Acupuncture Clinic of Richmond, uses only genuine artisan essential oils with their full range of fragrance notes and therapeutic potency. The oils are produced from organically grown and eco-wild harvested plants.
