Nitya Griffith Releases First Kids’ Yoga Book

Local yoga instructor, environmentalist and masterful kids yoga enthusiast, Lydia Nitya Griffith, announces the release of her first kids’ yoga book, A Child’s Journey Into Yoga. The book tells the story of a young girl’s journey of growing up learning to live and love yoga. The book demonstrates many of the core teachings of yoga philosophy. Teachers, yoga instructors and parents should delight in the many lessons included in this book, including being of service, anxiety and anger management, building self-confidence, being open to cultural differences and healthy living.

The book is designed to inspire children to stay the course on their inward journey toward self-knowledge and inner peace through living yoga. It is ideally suited for Grade 3 reading levels and higher. A Child’s Journey Into Yoga was illustrated by yoga student Bella Nathanson. A release party is planned from 4 to 6 p.m. on July 18 at Unity of Richmond. It will include an author reading, light refreshments and some family yoga.

Griffith has been a certified Integral Yoga teacher since 2005 and her biggest passion is teaching children of all ages. Griffith’s goal in teaching yoga to young and old alike is to enable her students to learn to live their yoga with peaceful mind, easeful body and purposeful approach to living with grace, compassion and love for all.
