Natural Awakenings Richmond

VegFest Bigger Than Ever

The 16th annual Richmond VegFest will be held from noon to 6 p.m., June 23, in the Azalea Gardens at Bryan Park. There will be delicious food, dynamic speakers and live music in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. More than 20 local restaurants will provide food, including Yogi Dogs, Thai Top Ten, Vegan Soul and India K’ Raja, in addition to more than 100 vendors and nonprofit organizations.

Speakers include Derek and Marcella from Vegan Muscle and Fitness. Animal rights and rescue organizations such as Gracie’s Guardians, Peaceful Fields Sanctuary and United Poultry Concerns will also be represented. Veggie juggler and magician Jonathan Austin will entertain the crowd in the Kid’s Patch and Twila Jane, an amazing veggie belly dancer, will perform between music sets. RVA’s favorite veg meteorologist, Mike Goldberg,
will emcee.

The festival is presented by Vegan Action and sponsored by the Vegetarian Society of Richmond, Richmond magazine, My Vegan Sweet Tooth, India K’Raja, VegFund and Natural Awakenings Richmond.
