SpiritMindBody is pleased have Portia Chan share her journey at our January Gathering. Portia Chan began to hear the call of the Goddess in 1992, when she was studying art history in college. She learned to read symbols, icons, and archetypes, and her dreams and visions became vivid to the point that art seemed to "dance" before her eyes. While doing research, writing, and teaching, she met many visionaries, luminaries, and founders of feminist psychology. Her inquiries into history, art, psychology, and spirituality all led her to the esoteric and metaphysical. In 1997, she purchased her first Tarot deck and also started studying Jungian analytical psychology, while pursuing her masters in teaching/educational psychology. Over the years, she has studied different decks, but her heart is with the Motherpeace deck by Vicki Noble and Karen Vogel. It is a round deck with imagery of women from many cultures and hearkening back to the Great Mother Earth Goddess. During the first SpiritMindBody Gathering of 2020, Portia will share what she has learned at the crossroads of Jungian psychology, Tarot imagery, and Goddess spirituality. After her talk, she will be at the Karma Cafe' to answer questions and to do some sample readings from the Motherpeace (Noble, Vogel) and Shadowscapes (Law) Tarot decks.

After the talk, we will offer Private Mini-Sessions with our Practitioners (20 minutes/$20)
