Jordan and Laura Green, of Edinburg, Virginia, are celebrating 10 years of full-time farming in Shenandoah County at J & L Green Farm. They manage several hundred acres of pasture and forest on Swover Creek Road in Edinburg, and produce direct-to-retail, forest-raised pork, grass-finished beef and pastured chicken and turkeys. Their pasture-based farrowing enterprise has pioneered techniques in rediscovering small-scale pastured-pig management and has led them to nationwide recognition for the piglets they produce.

Jordan Green says, “The first 10 years have been establishing viable pasture-based production models, building relationships in the community and developing a loyal customer base. We’re excited about the good we can do the community with our farm in the coming years!”
